PUBLIC NOTICE

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WESTONING: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 15 AND HARLINGTON: FOOTPATH NO 2)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No 15, Westoning which extends from the A5120 at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0259 3110 for a distance of approximately 930 metres to OS GR TL 0332 3056 where it joins Toddington Road Harlington and the full length of Footpath No 2, Harlington.

This temporary closure is required because a bridge across the path (at OS GR TL 0262 3109) has a rotten beam and the bridge needs a complete replacement. The closure is expected to take place from 8th November for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation. Please use other Public Rights of Way. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/leisure/countryside/rights-of-way/temporary.aspx

The proposed Order will come into operation on 08 November 2019 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
